Would You Save A Dog From Burning  To Death In A Heated Car? Image Credit: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/05/18/man-saves-dog-arrest/27546059/

An Animal Guardian Hero’s work is not only dangerous and under appreciated but can sadly also be against the law! In trouble with the law was indeed what happened in Athens Georgia when former US Military Veteran Michael Hammons rescued a distress dog from a hot car by smashing the heated car’s window with his wife’s wheelchair leg.

Instead of being thanked for saving the life of someone’s pet that could have very well died, Mr. Hammons was arrested at behest of the dog’s infuriated owner for criminal trespassing! According to the negligent owner she only left her dog inside the scorching car for 5 minutes.

Misunderstood and Unappreciated: Hero Michael Hammons Arrested For Saving A Dog’s Life From An Overheating Car! Image Credit http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/05/12/man-saves-dog-arrest/27174399/

However this owner who is shockingly free of an investigation for criminal negligence is unaware or unconcerned that she was gone for over five minutes and that her dog “was panting” and “in distress” due to the car’s intense heat as recounted by an onlooker.  Michael Hammons on the other hand was arrested his only crime being a hero who is the only reason a negligent lady’s dog is still alive!

Also shocking is the hypocrisy of Georgia state law, which makes it permissible for an individual to break open a car window to save an unattended child from extreme heat or cold but not a pet!

When is our looking down on animals as second-class citizens whose lives are secondary going to stop? /! When will the law in Georgia and elsewhere see and treat animals as truly living, breathing and feeling beings equal to humans? /! When will the public and law accept and reward not punish Animal Guardian Heroes like Michael Hammons? /! These double standards which relegate animals lives as secondary to humans, pardon criminal negligence while unjustly arresting the Good Samaritan are unacceptable and need to be addressed by We The People!!

Despite criminal charges against Michael Hammons have since been dropped (http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/05/18/man-saves-dog-arrest/27546059/) this does not change the fact that as a community we need to do much more to support Full Animal Equality and Give More Credit Animal Guardians On Society’s Front Lines Like Mr. Hammons!

What a horrible community to value property rights over this dogs life, antiquated ignorance is no excuse for lack of morals and ethics, this “owner” who should be an responsible and empathetic guardian for this dog, should be charged with animal cruelty, and this man should have been positively validated by law enforcement, disgustingly backward community should be petitioned against.

Here’s another woman currently under legal charges right now over her breaking a window and a link to the states that have current laws in place right now to protect dogs from this cruelty and killing, https://www.facebook.com/vicky.needham.5/posts/10208317454407963 & https://www.facebook.com/vicky.needham.5/posts/10208317474728471?hc_location=ufi

Wtf?!?! Why are we doing things ass backwards???? Apparently compassion is a crime – this case reminds me of Anita Krajnc being charged for giving water to a dehydrated pig https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ekhIzpKkHZo&autoplay=1
