BREAKING: Blood Lions Producers SUED By Zanchieta Wild Cat FARM

blood lion sued

The producers of Blood Lions may be finding themselves in trouble as a lion farm is seeking legal actions for exposing them. Earlier this week,  Zanchieta Wild Cat Farm filed an urgent legal claim against Regulus Vision for tarnishing its reputation by falsely implicating it in the canned lion hunting trade via a documentary feature film, Blood Lions.

Lizette van Schalkwyk, the founder of the lion sanctuary, Zanchieta Wild Car Farm, said that the sanctuary is housing 50 lions and they’re loosing revenue and volunteers because the film featured lions from their farm. She alleged that the film makers, Pippa Hankinson and Ian Michler, visited the farm on may 14th filiming for the purpose of ‘research’.

The film makers interviewed the workers at the sanctuary and filmed the animals including lions William Wallace, Kalahari and Okavango. Schalkwyk demands that Regulus Vision would take down all picture of the lions filmed from their website and in their advertising materials. The sanctuary farm also demanded Regulus Vision to include a correction in the film correcting and exonerating the farm. Van Schalkwyk also demands a public apology from Blood Lions for the hardship it has caused to the sanctuary.

Claiming to be innocent, Van Schalkwyk stated that the The sanctuary’s big cat population started with one lioness named Elsa and now has grown to seven lions. Van Schalkwyk affirms that “The lions are well looked after and the spaces where they are kept complies with standard norms of the industry.”

The court case is set to open November 27th.

The film has opened up the eyes of the world to the horrors of canned hunting and the world has responded through petitions and activisms. The result has led to decreases in volunteers to the canned farms as volunteer agencies are starting to unlist the farms as destinations. let’s hope the film can continue to show and educate people everywhere.

This is an obvious attempt to have their operations remain secretive as they know the mast majority of humans think canned hunting is sickening and cowardly ! They should be thankful for the free exposure they got in the Blood Lions documentary. Exposing facts and scientific opinions is NOT against the law.
Who is funding this law suit , surely it’s Safari Club International (SCI ). Why do they fight so hard for permits to kill animals, in the name of conservation ? Because they could give a crap about helping, animals as they claim, they only want to kill – it’s pure blood lust, and excessive greed !

Then let’s donate to sue Zanchieta Wild Cat Farm on criminal charges. I doubt that their “farm” is legal.

Only psychopaths have the urge to kill. Is there anyone commenting who has an urge to hunt down an animal, aim a gun and shoot it dead??? Not me.

The problem is that very difficult to believe to any of these farms that they could be innocent in canned hunting. I am very suspicious about any of these money collectors!!!! I don’t believe them!!! Why they cannot leave the wild life in peace??? Just support one or an other animal in real need??? I don’t believe them!

Well it will just bring more exposure to the vile, cruel disgusting killing business it is.
This will bite their backsides big time !
It will bring them even more BAD PUBLICITY than they already have !
    Good !

I don’t believe them EITHER! If they really did care about lions and they were falsely implicated, they would not be suing the Blood Lions team, they would gently ask to be exonerated. They would be in line with the cause, but clearly they are not! I don’t trust them. GO TEAM BLOOD LIONS!

I agree. Zanchieta wouldn’t have sued if they were entirely comfortable that they were innocent. Their modus operandi would have been entirely different. They would have had credibility if their denials were concomitant with an undivided and unconditional support for the film. The canned lion industry is so rotten that no one could be blamed for suspecting these places as participants in the vile industry.

I volunteered at Zanchieta Wild cat Farm and the lions that live there just live there. I have seen that and helped take care of the animals. Kalahari and Okavango are two of their lions that were on a hunting list and they BOUGHT them to make sure they wouldn’t get hunted and killed. Zoltan and Casper are two lions that were born on their farm who still live and will continue to live on their farm. Their parents William Wallace and Princes have been handraised by the owners and also just live out their lives on that farm. Their first Lioness, Elsa, has a massive enclosure all to herself. These animals are all well taken care of and their enclosures are always properly cleaned. I know this because I have helped do that.

Lions aren’t the only animals that live their lives there. 3 Cheetahs with a big enclosure. 4 Caracals, 2 in each enclosure. 4 Servals, a around 2 Meerkats. It’s been a while since I’ve been there. They also take care of animals that can no longer stay with their owner. Like the two meerkats.
They are sueing because the producers did not listen to their pleas. They survive on donations as far as I know. And if they close down because of this THEN the lions could end up being hunted and killed.
