Animal lovers all over the world may rejoice as we are receiving reports of this lion killer being FIRED from his job. Walter Palmer better be scared as he may be loosing his job soon.

Italian lion killer, Luciano Ponzetto, who works as a vet by day has been at the centre of an animal activist campaign on social media after he was identified as the lion killer in a photo that has been circulating on social media. Ponzetto killed a lion on a safari in Tanzania during a time when people were still upset by the death of Cecil the Lion. A picture of him posing with a dead lion (shown below) has been circulating around the internet drawing anger toward him.

After a tireless search, animal activists identified his work place at an animal shelter in the town of Caluso near Turin and rallied shortly after in massive numbers. While the veterinary association tried to protect him stating big game hunting is merely a hobby regulated by law, his workplace thought differently and sent him the pink slip; terminating Ponzetto as the Medical Director of 16 years.

“We are totally opposed to any form of hunting or abuse of animals, whether they be wild or domestic,” the association that runs the kennels said in a statement.

Walter Palmer better be shaking as he may be out of a job soon. Let us not forget to support the unceasing work of our animal activists by encouraging them to continue on putting pressure on Palmer and the dental association.

Just a moment here. Luciano Ponzetto is a vet, meaning a veterinarian, and also a big game hunter??? His clients should have been very afraid of what he is capable of doing to their pets. All physicians take an oath of doing no harm. I guess he thinks it is meaningless.

I can’t believe veterinarians can take the oath to do no harm yet turn around and do exactly that if they trophy hunt. It is disgusting!!!!

Thank you for your efforts. It paid off tremendously and will further void trophy hunting.

I am so happy to hear that someone finally stood up to the injustices that our wildlife is enduring! It is heartbreak at every turn and this person got what he deserved! Anyone that treats animals for a living and then kills them in his spare time needs to not only lose his job but should also be facing criminal prosecution! It is a crime to kill wildlife, period!!!

This man should not be in this line of work if he spends his down time killing animals! Definitely a conflict of interest!
